The Challenge

Godrej Consumer Products is a leading emerging markets company, with Godrej Professional being the hair care branch of it. With over 4 decades of expertise in the hair care industry, Godrej Professional has a nationwide presence with over 10,000 salons. It is also the first haircare brand to have formulated a hair colour and care range, especially for Indian hair.

With the onset of Covid, the salon business had suffered a blow and that’s when Godrej Professional decided to upskill their hairstylists & hair colorists by teaching them how to leverage the power of Instagram to create a more engaging presence and reach a wider audience online.

The Solution

Godrej Professional worked with IIDE to create a customized digital program that met the unique needs of the salon business. The aim of the program was to empower hair stylists & hair colorists by teaching them tips and tricks on how they can improve their online presence and how they can use different editing software to create thumb-stopping creatives.

600+ hair stylists & colorists were trained virtually on Zoom and IGTV. IIDE decided to conduct the training in both English and Hindi keeping in mind the diverse background of participants.

The Result

After the training, the stylists went on to apply the learnings and increase their presence on social media. They saw a huge boost in the number of followers, people started engaging with them which eventually led to their business coming back on track.
