Prime Focus Limited was founded in 1997 as a media service powerhouse. It employs over 8,000 professionals in 16 cities across 4 continents and 7 time zones. The company do stereo 3D conversion and animation, Media ERP Suite and Cloud-enabled media services, media equipment rental, digital Intermediate and picture post for the Media and Entertainment industry.

Prime Focus had been awarded as one of the world’s famous providers of VFX, and soon Reliance Media Works after seeing this merged their global film and media services business with Prime Focus. Prime Focus is a VFX creator for many blockbuster Hollywood movies including TENET (2020), First Man (2019), Blade Runner 2049 (2017) Ex Machina (2015), Interstellar (2014) and Inception (2010).

The media company is also listed under BSE and NSE. Presently the company operates in Abu Dhabi, Bangalore, Cape Town, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Johannesburg, Kolkata, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Chennai, Montreal, New York, Toronto and Vancouver.

Current investments in technology are not aligned with the company’s vision. 
  • Financial Planning is Not Being Performed Properly and Efficiently: The liquid asset ratio and liquidity ratio indicate that a company can use its cash more efficiently than it currently is. 
  • High Labour Outflow: With higher dropout rates compared to other organizations in the industry, Prime Focus, and have to spend significantly more on employee training and development than their competitors. 
  • Not Very Successful in Integrating Companies with Different Work Cultures: As mentioned earlier, Prime Focus is successful at integrating small companies. It has its share of failures to merge firms that have different work cultures.
  • High Competition: The daily stock is high compared to its competitors, so the company has to raise more capital to invest in the channel. This could affect the long-term growth of Prime Focus.
  • Product Marketing: Although the product is successful in terms of sales, its positioning and unique selling proposition are not clearly defined, making it vulnerable to attack from competitors in this sector.
