What is career scope?

  • IIDE hosted a SuperSession with @Shashidhar Sharma – Country head – Programmatic at Group M for Programmatic Buying and its career scope. Shashi has over 11 years of experience in the field of programmatic and he has managed to work with clients like Coke, Mercedes, Royal Enfield, Procter and Gamble, Hindustan Unilever, etc to name a few. Before joining Group M, he has worked for some of the finest companies like Omnicom Media Group as well as Google. He also managed to win a Drum Asia Award for ‘Best use of Data in a Digital Marketing Campaign’.
  • In the session, Shashi spoke about the conglomerate Group M which is a part of the WPP group that controls 60-65% of Global advertising across all channels. Out of which, Group M is the digital wing. In India, Group M controls 50-60% of Programmatic and Digital. Some of the brands which group M works with include Pepsico, Netflix, Redbull, Uber, Google, etc.
  • Shashi mentioned that after understanding the future scope of Digital marketing and doing extensive research, he understood the importance of Data in the field of digital marketing. Hence, he chose the field of Data analytics and programmatic as his niche.
  • Along with this important topics like the evolution of Digital marketing and Programmatic, the scope of Digital marketing and possible roles in the future, etc were also discussed. The session was concluded with a quote by Steve Jobs that states “Do what you love to do. The only way to do great work is to love what you do”. It was indeed a very great insightful session about the world of Data and Programmatic.
