The objective of this blog is to learn and know about NHPC and gain insights into NHPC and how it became India’s largest organization for hydropower development.

 As of date, NHPC Limited has become the largest organization for hydropower development in India, with capabilities to undertake all the activities from conceptualization to commissioning about setting up of hydro projects. NHPC Limited has expanded its business into the solar and wind energy sectors. NHPC Limited now has a 7071.2 MW installation base spread over 24 power stations, including two joint venture projects.

NHPC, along with its joint ventures and subsidiaries, is currently working on 11 projects with a combined installed capacity of 7539 MW, including the Subansiri Lower HEP (2000 MW) in Arunachal Pradesh and the Parbati-II HEP (800 MW) in Himachal Pradesh.

In addition, eight projects totalling 7652 MW at installed capacity are in the clearance stage, including three joint venture projects and five projects are undertaken solely by NHPC.

In addition, five projects totalling 2455 MW in installed capacity are in the survey and investigation stage. NHPC is working on three hydroelectric projects (1130 MW) and two pump storage projects (1325 MW).

Marketing Strategy of NHPC – 

Okay now, let’s know about the marketing strategy of NHPC! To begin with, let’s learn about its STP Analysis.

Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning

Segmentation

NHPC uses the broadest available segmentation of the target market. They are attempting to reach all the geographical locations. It is already segmented into Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Sikkim.

Targeting

The company does not produce anything to be sold, they work for the development of hydropower in India. In order to exercise all the rights and powers available at any meeting of any Company engaged in the planning, investigation, research, design, and preparation of preliminary, feasibility, and definite project reports, as well as the construction, generation, operation, and maintenance of Power Stations and Projects, NHPC acts as an agent of Government / Public Sector financial institutions. Targeting therefore does not apply to NHPC Ltd.

Positioning

As of date, NHPC Limited has become the largest organization for hydropower development in India, with capabilities to undertake all the activities from conceptualization to commissioning about setting up of hydro projects. NHPC Limited has also diversified in the field of Solar & Wind power.

Marketing Campaigns

1. Free Health Camp

On September 13, 2022, Bisnoli Sarvodaya Gramodyog Seva Sansthan hosted a free health camp as part of NHPC Limited’s CSR programme to improve the health and immunity of the villagers in Kangar Village, which is situated in Tauru Block, Nuh Aspirational District, Haryana. This was the fifth of six health camps that were planned to be held as part of the NHPC CSR programme.

In this camp, 103 people were assessed by a group of medical professionals and technicians with an emphasis on anaemia, diabetes, and hypertension. Blood, blood pressure, heart, oxygen saturation level, eyes, and other tests were performed during the camp, and health and immunity booster kits were also given out.

2. NHPC celebrates Har Ghar Tiranga

NHPC India’s premier hydropower company is observing the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at its Corporate Office, Power Stations, Projects, Regional Offices, and other units across the country. A ‘Tiranga March’ led by Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC was organized at NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad on 13th August 2022 wherein Shri Y.K. Chaubey, Director (Technical), Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) and Smt. Sudha Singh, President of, the Ladies Welfare Association, NHPC participated along with a large number of NHPC employees and their family members. The ‘Tiranga March’ was marked with great enthusiasm and deep patriotic fervour.

3. NHPC conducts a special vaccination camp for Covid-19 booster doses and vaccines.

On August 3, 2022, at the NHPC Corporate Office in Faridabad, NHPC hosted a free Covid vaccination camp (covexin & cover shield) for individuals 15 years of age and over (1st and 2nd dosage) and booster dose for adults. During the vaccination camp, a total of 401 NHPC employees/ex-employees/contract staff and their family members received their second/ booster dosage of vaccine which included 36 Covexin and 365 Covershield vaccines. The camp was organized in association with ESI Dispensary No.01, Sector 27 B, Faridabad.

As per SEO Analysis, Organic keywords less than 500 are bad, more than 1000 are good and more than 10,000 are amazing. As seen NHPC has 29K+ organic keywords which is amazing. They also have a monthly traffic of around 147K+ which is impressive, as above 20,000 are considered amazing. This analysis shows that NHPC is pretty good at its SEO Strategy.

Influencer Marketing

Influencers can include celebrities, people with a large following on Instagram, or even the CEO of the business.NHPC has not done any kind of influencer marketing but the marketing manager of NHPC is Abdul Maleque.

Mobile App

The Saksham Mobile App was created by NHPC Limited to spread information about the hydropower produced by the company.NHPC Limited is the largest organization for Hydro Power development in India.

NHPC is very much active on social media. They post content related to their past achievements, ongoing projects, awareness messages, etc. Facebook is the only platform for posting stuff. Also, they press releases about their work, projects, and memorandum of association via various sources.
