About Solar Industries – Company Overview

Solar Industries India Ltd is 1st Indian company to cross annualized production of 300000 MT of explosives. The company was founded by visionary Shri Satyanarayan Nandlal Nuwal. Solar Group has developed from a single-site manufacturing company in 1995 to a globally recognized Industrial Explosives manufacturer today. They have years of experience in the industrial explosives segment. They have even stepped into Defence and set up one of the world’s most integrated facilities of ammunition. They have visionary management and they are very safety and quality-focused. Their focus is always on value-added products.

The company began producing Slurry Explosives in 1996 and Detonating Cords in 1998. With the favourable outcome of this unit, they forayed into the production of Detonators through Economic Explosives Ltd non-Explosive intermediaries through Solar Components Pvt Ltd, and Bulk Explosives through Solar Capitals Ltd. 

In September 2005 the company obtained all the shares from the promoters of Economic Explosives Ltd Solar Capitals Ltd and Solar Component Ltd by swapping their holding with the shares of the company to make the three companies their wholly-owned subsidiaries.

They obtained 74% Shares of Navbharat Coalfields Ltd, a company located at Raipur engaged in the mining & minerals business. So Somu Steels & Power Ltd became a subsidiary of the company. During the year 2008-09 the company’s wholly-owned subsidiaries Solar Capital Ltd and Solar Industries Ltd merged with the company on April 1, 2008. Also, the company changed its name from Solar Explosives Ltd to Solar Industries India Ltd.

Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning

Solar Industries India Ltd are globally recognized Industrial Explosives Manufacturer and also have entered the defence and set up segment recently. So they segment themselves into industrial explosives, Packed explosives, non-permitted explosives, permitted explosives, seismic explosives, bulk explosives, electronic detonators, and in defence they have segmented into ammunitions, military explosives, bombs & warheads, etc.

They have also stepped into business for space applications which are synergistic with the current business of ammunition and have decided to make an equity investment in a startup “Skyroot Aerospace” for the manufacturing of Space Launch Vehicles and Economic Explosives Limited has also started Manufacturing Strap on Booster Motor for PSLV rockets.

Solar Industries India Ltd’s target audience is bigger as they are a global player in explosives. They are the largest exporter of explosives from India. Their products are being consumed in more than 50+ countries.

Solar Industries India Ltd has made its positioning in the market through several years of experience and is celebrating 25years of excellence in the field of explosives. As they have competitors like STV group, Austin Powder, Orica, Maxam, etc. Still, Solar Industries leads among all.


Marketing Campaigns

Solar Industries now does not have any marketing campaigns. Solar Industries uses the same marketing techniques as its competitors are using. The marketing campaign which they can follow from their competitors is advertising on television, launching an advertisement in newspapers, launching a short corporate film, and other marketing ideas.

Solar Industries launches such advertisements and other media campaigns to increase its presence in India and other foreign countries.


Social Media Marketing

Solar Industries Ltd is active on a few social media platforms like Facebook, Linkedin, and Instagram. They have great followers on Linkedin as compared to Facebook and the least on Instagram. 

The Followers are as follows:

Facebook – 1,285 
Instagram- 70 

They have the most followers on Linkedin and average on Facebook and the least on Instagram because Linkedin is more of a professional and appropriate social media platform for solar industries. The posts contain information regarding the latest launch and their achievements and celebrations, not much has been posted.

SEO Strategies

Marketing Strategy of Solar Industries - SEO

As per the SEO ranking, It is been analyzed that the number of keywords less than 500 is poor and more than 1000 is great and 10+ is amazing. As we can see in the above image that Solar Industries India Ltd has more than 1000 organic keywords  1,420 which is great! This shows that the digital marketing of Solar Industries India Ltd is gaining a great number of insights. 

Further, the organic monthly traffic is 13,060 which is pretty good as it’s above 10,000. It needs improvements in Domain Authority as it is ranked between 1 to 100. When it comes to backlinks it is average.

So with the overall SEO Analysis, Solar Industries needs to keep improving and at the same time maintain and raise its page on Google Organic SERP results.


Influencer Marketing

Solar Industries India Ltd is well known and has years of experience in the field of Industrial explosives manufacturing. This is a very B2B Company and since does not have to do influencer marketing and very much has its own sales team for stuff like this.


E-Commerce 

Solar Industries India Ltd is a company that manufactures industrial explosives Thus Solar Industries India Ltd does not have any online selling portal for the product they manufacture or sell to their consumers or buyers.


Mobile Apps

In talking about the mobile apps, Solar Industries has two apps among which one is Solar Smart Suite. This application gives everyone from sales, customer service, business development, recruiting, marketing, or any other line of business a better way to manage the external interactions and relationships that drive success. This app has 1000+ downloads.

The second app is Solar Defence. They have entered into solar defence recently as it is one of the world’s most integrated facilities for ammunition. This app contains all information regarding Solar Defence also one can book appointments and see all the products and can make an enquiry call. Again this app is downloaded by 1000+ people.


Content Marketing Strategies

Solar Industries India Ltd is not very active on social media platforms. But they do have professional posts and informational posts regarding their product launch, achievements, and celebrations, on Linkedin and Facebook handles. 

Also, they press releases about their products via various sources such as MoneyControl, Economics Times, BSE, NDTV, etc.
