Pfizer is the world’s largest company to be involved in the pharmaceuticals business. Pfizer is a Fortune 500 company with its headquarters in New York. The company was founded in 1849 by two German immigrants Charles F. Erhart and Charles Pfizer. 

Pfizer manufactures medicines and vaccines. It deals in medicines of cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, immunology, and neurology diseases. 

Pfizer provides a wide range of drugs and vaccines for a wide range of prescription products and satisfies a wide range of specifications.

  • Because of its involvement in the largest healthcare fraud of making its drugs illegal, Pfizer’s image was negatively influenced.

  • There is intensive regulation by the government in the healthcare market. So, if Pfizer is developing a new product, but the government regulatory board in the region refuses to approve it, the product will be rejected.
  • There’s always a price war between the competitors which could lead to the pressure of reducing the prices. Ultimately, reducing the profit margin.

Pfizer has always been dedicated to its Transparency policies to make the efforts public. It sticks to its code of conduct in order to comply with the regulations while fostering with the NGOs, other foundations, government, etc.

Pfizer’s code of conduct has been very vividly explained and presented in The Blue Book. The book describes how the people at Pfizer work with their four core values – Courage, Excellence, Joy, and Equity.

They believe that breaking the code harms not only their company but also their patient, customers, and the community at large. Violating the code or policies results in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

In the SWOT analysis of Pfizer, it is evident that the company has been performing exceptionally well, maintaining a positive public image, and establishing itself as a significant contender in the market despite the presence of numerous competitors such as Merck & Co., Novartis AG, Eli Lilly & Co., Bristol Myers, and Johnson & Johnson.

Pfizer’s continued presence in the pharmaceutical industry can be attributed to its superior marketing strategies. 

Hence, the marketing strategies of Pfizer, as revealed through the SWOT analysis of Pfizer, have been instrumental in preserving its competitive stance in the market. This underscores the growing significance of marketing proficiency in today’s business landscape.
