Ah! The day of love.

One of the very few days when people from all around the world come together – to celebrate love in all ways, forms, and shapes.

Do you remember a time in your life when you didn’t receive a single message or a call on your phone to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day?

It wasn’t odd for young men and women to pour their hearts out on letters and mail them to their loved one for V-Day, or tie up said letters on stones to hurl through their lover’s bedroom window, or pass them along in a class full of their peers or with local street boys to hide suspicion.

Today, youngsters prefer sending greetings through messages, GIFs, snaps, and sometimes, only emojis.

Before you begin wondering where the romance has gone, let us tell you, that this IS the new age romance. Full of creative ways to express how you love.

2: From Gifts To Gift Cards

Gift-giving is a great way to express your love. Especially when it involves a lot of guesswork. But let’s be honest, in a world where we carry our cash in our phones and in the cookies of our browsers, where we hardly find enough time to shop for ourselves let alone guess-shop for someone else, it only makes sense to simply buy a gift card for your loved one.

Although a lot of people still prefer shopping for the perfect gift in order to add that personal touch, there are countless others who prefer giving gift cards.

3: From Stores To Online Shops

And if you are one of the former people who like to see the looks on people’s faces when they open your gifts, you will most probably be shopping out of the comforts of your home or office desk space than actually walking into a physical store (because you’re probably one of the 71% of shoppers who believe they get better deals online). But hey, we’re not complaining!

4: From a Photo To FOMO

Earlier, couples would choose select occasions such as Valentines Day to preserve their special memories. They would get their photo clicked or have their painting made – memories on a paper to last forever. Today, we click so many photos on a day-to-day basis and share most of them for the world to see! Our love for posting the perfect selfies and the best hashtags on days such as Valentine’s Day, however, has more to do with winning likes than genuinely sharing our lives. As a result, we not only become victims of the FOMO Syndrome but also fuel it.

5: From Well-Planned To Up-For-Grabs

From movie tickets to dinner and lunch dates, spa treatments, 1 – day getaways, and international holidays, everything is up for grabs for you and your date to enjoy!
