Are you inclined towards entrepreneurship?

What is the challenge all about?

The main gap between a dream and reality is execution. Though this step is never easy, IIDE will help you execute your idea by identifying 3 distinct steps:

Learn

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
Benjamin Franklin

So it’s about time you get involved. How do we do this? We’ve got some experts on board who will be teaching you:

  • How to develop Android & iOS App Prototypes
  • Business Model Development
  • The Art of Pitching & Presenting

After all your learnings, comes the first pitch. This is where you’ll present your app ideas to all the participants and the top 10 ideas will be selected democratically.

The winning pitchers become team leaders for execution of their idea. This is where your networking will come in handy.

From day 1, start interacting, get to know people, get to know what they like, who they are, what their strengths are, what they’re passionate about because this is the key to building a strong team.

Go ask any investor, they invest in teams and not ideas. Teams will be of 4 people, so find your tribe as the clock starts ticking.

Create

Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team
Steve Jobs

Once teams are formed, comes the real part, the difference between dreams and reality = Execution

Divide your work efficiently because you’ve only got 36 hours after the bell rings. Bet on the strengths of your team and delegate efficiently. This is to make the best of your time invested to reward ratio

In this stage of the competition you’re to work in teams of 4 and side by side work on:

  1. Your app prototype
  2. A business canvas
  3. A pitch deck
Validate

The difference between hope and reality is testing
Karan Shah

When you’re up there, with your team and your idea, in front of the judges. You should be able to backup everything you stand for on that stage.

You should be able to answer the basic questions such as:

  • How many specific benefits for your product or idea can you list?
  • Who are your potential competitors?
  • What key features does my product or service have that others will have a hard time copying?
  • Who are your customers, have you reached out to potential customers for feedback, are they willing to pay?
  • Can you set up a landing page and encourage interested people to sign up for more information?
  • Can you get paying customers from your target market to pre-order based on a blueprint or mockup?
  • What will it take to break even or make a profit?
  • How can investors in your idea make a profit?

For brownie points, separate your startup from the herd by moving from the idea stage to a testing stage. This will be the true test that will bring the validation to all the efforts you and your team put in.
